To guarantee the inviolable right to health, Soleterre carries out projects to support health structures and medical personnel already operating or, where they are lacking, to create health facilities adequate to the needs of the population. Particular attention is given to maternal and child health, with interventions aimed at childcare, the fight against malnutrition and the implementation of awareness and prevention programs for mothers.
There is also an INTERNATIONAL PEDIATRIC ONCOLOGY PROGRAM (PIOP) aimed at developing prevention and early diagnosis and reducing the level of suffering of children with cancer and their families in developing countries.
Currently the program – active in Ukraine, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Uganda and Italy – is promoted through the Grande contro il cancro campaign. In 2017 it was also supported thanks to funds raised with the 5xmille IRPEF.
To date, Soleterre manages or supports hospital centers and health facilities in Ukraine, Uganda, Morocco, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast and Italy.
